Patches

8/29/04
This little girl is still growing and just loves attention. She is
starting her training this week, as soon as it is dry enough. She will do
whatever you ask so we don't think it will take much to teach her the joys of
being ridden!!
Patches is in front of Chip who has designated herself as Patches
protector!! Patches doesn't mind as long as she has plenty to eat!!
This girl is still growing!

Patches is such a sweetheart! While she is a 2 year old and could be
started under saddle, we are waiting, and of course there is never enough
time! This could be your summer project!!

Updates from the foster home!
Patches is a real sweetie. Stands very nicely for grooming and defends
herself nicely against our little welsh pony boarder who is in love with her.
I am working on catching her, so far cellophane wrapper rustling works like a
charm (treat wrapper). She leads very well and tomorrow if day light
permits and it dries out enough we will start more intensive leading backing
turning whoa-ing and saddle/pad experiments.

Patches has been at foster getting some much needed attention! She is such
a sweetheart!

This little girl is going to be someone's dream! Nothing seems to bother
her and is a gentle little lover girl! We have had no problems since 1/6 -
which she may have still been adjusting to getting fed on a regular
basis!! She is doing super!

We had quite a scare with this little lady! She started acting ...
different (?),
but her blood results came back great. We have been keeping a close
eye on this girl since she came. With the change in feed, location,
etc. we feel it was just a huge change for her, she has been acting much
more like a 2 yr old - it is always amazing how quickly they change!!
This little girl doesn't know how lucky
she is - yet! Our thanks go to Dawn, Robert & their family. Thanks to Ellen for
spreading the word about the rescue! Dawn and her family purchased this
girl from a barbed wire mud lot with no shelter and no signs of feed. She
did not know to take treats out of our hands, but she appears to be a quick
learner! Watch for updates!
