Today we received the following letter from Beal Equestrian Farm:
Hello Everyone,
Thought you might like to hear that I
have been riding Pete since he's gained 100 pounds and had a lot of energy to
burn. I never in a millions years thought we'd be riding him - we took him
on thinking he'd be a retired old pasture buddy, but each time I approach his
stall with his halter, he whinnies and is ready to go to work.
He knows all about being ridden, stands quietly, neck reins, and except for a
little head tilt, you would never know he had no eye.
While I am still walking and trotting him a little bit every day for
conditioning, he races around the pasture full tilt, so I know he will be ready
to carry a rider at the canter soon.
Pete is our barn "celebrity" - ......................
He is such a shining example that any
horse is worth saving.
Keep up the good work,
BB

Pete has gone to Beal Equestrian Farm where he will be loved and continue his
weight gain. He has a wonderful pasturemate where he is going to stay in
the private paddock with an old retired Welsh Pony, Taco, who has detached
retinas and limited vision. Tom calls it "the almost blind leading
the one eyed horses pen".... We know that Pete could not be in better
hands!! Thank you to everyone at Beal Equestrian Farms!!!!!!

I need to get pictures!!! This boy looks totally different. It is
amazing what doing a little blood work and medical care can do for a horse.
Pete is doing so well! He is gaining weight and is
getting a lot more personality! This boy is just a sweetheart. Watch
for updates!
