Nothing but love!

Sassy is adopted!!
She fits right in and is such a great dog.
How could they resist!!

Merideth & Will have taken Sassy home to make sure she is a match! She
is sleeping peacefully after going for a professional grooming! Thank
you!! She will be greatly missed at the rescue, but she couldn't be in a
better place! We look forward to see her when you come for weekends!

Sassy is something else! She has taken off some weight and has
really come alive! She is always ready to play and is just a happy
girl! She is a great guard dog as she barks whenever someone comes down
the drive. She loves attention and follows you where ever you go! Do
you have the love to give this girl?

Sassy so much wants a family of her own. While she is getting attention
here, she deserves a home where she is # 1. She loves attention and is
very anxious to please. Do you have the love she needs? She was a
man's best friend and misses him a lot - do you know someone looking for a best
pal? She doesn't require a lot of exercise and loves to go for rides!!

Sometimes a man's dedication to his animals is
so great that it seems almost as if the welfare of his animals is what keeps him
going. Duke and Sassy came to us because their "Daddy" had
terminal cancer. Three days after Duke was loaded up and off to his new
home, we received work that his "Daddy" had succumbed to the cancer.
Part of me thinks he couldn't let go until his duty to his horse, to see that he
had a good home, was done, and his responsibility to his animals having been
met, he passed on.
We received word from his oldest son and his sister.
His oldest son wrote this:
On Saturday my father left this world
much sooner then expected and knowing someone is
loving his two best friends, has allowed him to rest peacefully.
It is times like this that we are glad
we can help, that we are here.
Duke and Sassy will always have a home.
I'm not sure about Duke, but I think
Sassy had been a rescue.
I feel that the Rescuer's Bridge fits him and I believe he is caring for many
animals now.

I just can't say enough wonderful things about Sassy! She has been trained
to obey commands by hand signal and she does that just great! Her previous
owner has called to let us know she does not do well around small
children. We don't have many small ones here at the rescue, but see she
does well with those over 10 yrs old. She is "THE"
dog! If you want a couch potato, she is super, she has lost some weight
and loves to play! For a large breed with the herding instincts, this one
would rather watch the others - no sense in using all that energy when someone
else (the other dogs) can do the work! She will follow you anywhere and is
a great guard dog, barking at anyone coming down the drive, but is very
obviously not aggressive. She stays with you even when you go in
the pasture with the horses, but never barks or bathers the horses that are
there. Sassy is up to date on all her vaccinations, and current on heartworm preventative.
This little girl is 5 yrs old, spayed and an Australian Shepherd
mix. She
has come to the rescue as her owner can no longer care for her due to illness. This girl is everything you could ask for. Housebroke,
loves to go for rides in the car, gets along with 5 other dogs of all
breeds, stays on the property without being told..... What a
girl! She really wants to play with the other dogs, but needs to lose a
little weight!! Available to the right home!
